Elasticity: The fabric has no elastic content, however the poly-cotton fabric will slowly stretch to your shape (similar to the way denim stretches to fit the wearer). The waist of the skirt is elastic and sizes are provided below for the waist without stretch and at full stretch.

A Baju Kebarung is a loose-fitting yet very stylish skirt suit. It is made up of a straight skirt which has pleats on one side for ease of movement. The silhouette of this outfit is identical to the Baju Kurung. The difference between the two outfits is that the Baju Kebarung is front opening. Traditionally, this front opening was most commonly buttons, but in this modern version, the opening is a zip neatly positioned at the bottom of the V neckline.

The blouse is designed to be tailored in appearance and sits straight across the shoulders before dropping, usually part way down the thigh in length. The tailored attention to sophisticated detail is enhanced in this outfit with the addition of a lasercut design at the bottom of the blouse. This allows the contrasting skirt colour to peek through and provides a look reminiscent of filigree.

The design on the wrap around style skirt (which is sewn shut, it only looks like a wrap around skirt) is traditional of batik design and is beautifully highlighted with the addition of the perfectly named Caribbean Blue border.

As with all traditional clothes from the Oceania region, the Baju Kebarung is a celebration of sophisticated tailoring alongside jewel tone colours and intricate batik inspired designs. This suit is made of a poly-cotton blend, making it a cool outfit that does not crush as easily as pure cotton can. A beautiful and practical outfit.
