Aqua Salwar Kameez with Rose Pattern Print
Sizes: L, XL
Opacity: 3
Sleeve: Fixed
Elasticity: There is no elasticity in the fabric of this product as it is a cotton blend. However, it will stretch to fit in places that feel the tight, similar to the way denim stretches. Please note that Indian garments often have narrow sleeves, so it might be worth buying one size up if you have thicker biceps. However, the pants in these garments are elasticised, so this means they can often stretch to fit someone one size larger. Likewise, they are comfortable for an extended period for pregnant ladies as the elastic will grow with your waist.
The light cotton salwar kameez is one of the most comfortable modest outfits one can wear. It is worn as an every-day garment that embraces the colour and floral motifs of the amazing country that inspired it. These garments also demonstrate the amazing capacity of Indian designers to mix not only colour but also pattern to create uplifting yet visually balanced garments.
Of course, being a true salwar kameez, this is a three piece suit, with the dupatta (long elegant scarf) included. We consider this a must as traditionally, the dupatta is not worn as an optional accessory but as a vital component and feature of this elegant and feminine form of dress. It is also very handy for any modest dressers who wear hijab or prefer to keep their hair fully or partially covered. Importantly, we have searched far and wide to find our customers Indian salwar kameez that have long sleeves (rather than the standard 3/4 length sleeve). As Indian salwar kameez rarely are made with a cuff, if you would like 3/4 length sleeves, you need only to fold them up to achieve this look.
This wonderful aqua Salwar Kameez with its glorious roses reminds me of my home. I live near a massive lake (173km in diameter) and white people first came to live here in the early 1800s. As such, there are still some beautiful examples of colonial era homes built on the hills almost on the shore of the lake. These homes tend to have grand architecture and beautifully formal, British inspired gardens - usually heavily featuring roses. It is a beautiful yet strange juxtaposition, the British country style gardens next to the aqua waters of Lake Macquarie. Yet here is that exact phenomenon evident in a salwar kameez. While most of you may have never seen (and likely never will see) Lake Macquarie, I am sure this glorious salwar kameez will take you back to beautiful gardens you have seen sitting beside the aqua waters of pristine lakes or rivers. 😍
